28 February 1993

That was the day of my birth. 19 years ago my mum shot me out of her vagina at the Dandenong Hospital and wham bam, here I am! I didn't really do much for my birthday, I'm not the biggest birthday celebrator. On the Sunday I went to the Lyndhurst Hotel with my two brothers and their ladies for dinner, it was an all you can eat buffet. Safe to say I had to be rolled out I ate so much. I was planning on going to the Apartment on Monday night for Big Band but that didn't happen so Nicolas, Lauren, Alexander and I went to the Gypsy Bar on Brunswick Street for dinner. It was de-lish, and I had the great lemon-lime and bitter I have ever drank in my life.

I had the grand joy of spending my actual birthday at work, it turned out to be okay. My two work pals came up to my floor and surprised me with some presents in the morning. All of my team bar two people weren't around in the morning so I did a brief run with my mate for like an hour, came back and 'did heaps of work' (it was my birthday so I was allowed to do nothing) I went to a lunch with my old team for my birthday and to farewell a guy that was leaving, it was a shit lunch but it was good to catch up with everyone and hang out. That night, one of my best friends Lauren was playing a gig at Miss Libertines. I met up with her friend Luke and we grabbed dinner and hung with everyone till she played, she was amazing!!

Tonight though, my brother Sam and his girlfriend Gemma are taking me to Ikea to pick out a new bed etc for ma birfdaii present. Total legends they are. I'm super excited cause I am so obsessed with Ikea and end up spending like a trillion dollars there cause everything is so great and cheap, and I'm a member so I get le discount ;) I was looking on the website today and found these, I think I'm leaning towards getting them..

Pretty yes? Well I don't really care if you think they are pretty or not.. There is more stuff in the shop and knowing me I'll change my mind five thousand times because there is too much to chose from. Least I have some money of my own to spend as well, my impulse buying is at it's worse when I go to Ikea. Not to mention I started my online Winter shopping today. I am going to be so broke soon.

Oh well.

Sufjan Stevens

There aren't words to describe my love for this man. Sufjan Stevens has got to be my all time favorite singer, and for me to actually pick one is some big shit right there. I fell in love with his music probably two years ago. I was in the car with my brother and his girlfriend and "For the Widows in Paradise, For the Fatherless in Ypsilanti" was playing. I instantly loved it and ever since then I've been obsessed (to say the least) His music seems to get better and better with each album he produces, constantly changing, but still little bits of the old Sufjan in his newer work. "Age of Adz", which is his newest full length album, released in 2010 was by far the most different in terms of sound. The album features heavy use of electronics which is intensified by heavy orchestration, taking inspiration from the apocalyptic artwork of schizophrenic artist Royal Robertson. Quite different when we are used to hearing breathy vocal, his trademark banjo and simple wind instruments.

I had the absolute pleasure of going to his concert at the Arts Centre on 31 January 2011, and it is still to this day the greatest concert I have ever been to. Not only did he play the entire Age of Adz album (except Bad Communication) AND played Impossible Soul in it's entirety (which is 25 minutes long, I actually lost my shit everywhere) he opened with Heirloom from the All Delighted People EP that he released a few months prior to Age of Adz. He also did an encore with Chicago (obviously) and played a couple other songs from his more popular albums (John Wayne Gacy Jr and Concerning the UFO Sighting Near Highland, Illinois, that I can remember) I don't really have any friends that like Sufjan and there was no way on this earth I wasn't going, so I went by my lonesome. I thought I was going to have the worst time because I don't really like doing that sort of thing alone, but boy, was I wrong! I made friends with the 40 something year old guy that sat next to me, we pretty much just talked about how amazing Sufjan was for majority of the night.

I would give my left kidney to be able to see him play again. Not even kidding. If you've got a ticket, send me a message and my left kidney is yours. He is the most incredible musician. And I don't care what you say, he will be the father of my children.

These are some photos from the concert. I didn't have the best seat cause I bought the ticket pretty late, but the Arts Centre is a great venue and is set out really well so I still could see everything. These photos were taken during Sufjan singing Impossible Soul. All these balloons fell from the ceiling and everyone in the venue got up and started dancing and kicking the balloons around. It was so good!

So, if you haven't heard of him or don't really get too much into his music, this is me telling you to SORT YOUR SHIT OUT! Seriously, when have I lied to you about something? Take my word, he is ah-ma-zing.

These are a few of his albums, probably the most popular ones. Every single one is flawless. They are incredible. Check dem out yo!

Roger that.

Woodland

I went to the East Brunswick Club on Saturday night to see the Paper Kites play. They were absolutely amazing! For a small Melbourne band to sell out every single show over Australia and New Zealand, it's incredible. They have such a beautiful sound, their ep 'Woodland' is one of my favortie cd's by far. Every single song is perfect, and sounds so lovely. Even the guys in the band are all so wonderful. I had the pleasure of going to the gig with my good friend from school Lauren and a few of her friends Luke, Amelie and Dillon. Lauren is close friends with the lead singer of the Paper Kites, Sam, so I was super excited to meet him (totally kept my cool though)

Tim Hart who is the drummer from Boy & Bear also played a set, he is so, so good. A man and a guitar has never sounded so great (besides John Mayer of course, he is the man) I was lucky enough to see him play last year when I went to the Sufjan Stevens concert, he opened the show. He was just as good, and he is quite the jokester which I enjoyed. I recommend checking out his solo stuff, his song 'Stride by Stride' is really good. Check out Boy & Bear too if you haven't heard of them, they are the bees knees.

So, basically, what I'm trying to say is you need to buy this ep. Like today. Get on iTunes, go to a record shop and sort this shit out. You will not be disappointed I can guarantee that, and if you are, you seriously do not have any musical taste whatsoever.

You see this in a shop, you buy it. Ya dig?

Amazon

Online shopping is probably one of the greatest things ever invented. Bored at work... Asos, Amazon, Urban Outfitters, American Apparel, you name it, I'm on there. I just purchased these two books from Amazon and can't wait to receive them! I have always been such a huge fan of true crime stories and the Zodiac stories is one of my favorites. I loved the movie and have been wanting to buy the books for ages but never got around to it. Keen to give them a read, it will be nice to read something new. I really love reading but can never find anything decent so I end up reading the same books over and over.

My favorite book is called Oscar and the Lady in Pink, it's the sweetest book. Quite short but so cute, it makes me cry every single time. Lord of the Rings is also an all time favorite, I'm such a LOTR nerd, but that's another story. Recently though, the best book I have read in a long time was Ellen Degeneres' new one called Seriously, I'm Kidding. Oh man, there aren't even words. Most hilarious thing I have ever read in my life. I was flying to Brisbane last November and I needed something to read for the plane and I saw that in the book shop at the airport, read the blurb and was already pissing myself laughing. You know if you're already laughing from the blurb it's going to be a good book, so I grabbed that. Probably the best $30 I've ever spent. I couldn't stop laughing throughout the whole thing, and not just a little giggle here and there. Like, I'm talking out loud, sometimes cackling even. So, so funny. Just thinking about it is making me laugh hahahaha. Oh, Ellen. But seriously, you should most definitely check it out.

Anyway, just thought of throw that out there. Nothing else really to report. I'm currently sitting in Starbucks listening to Steely Dan, drinking the most horrible drink. It's gross as rainy outside so I didn't want to be out there. I'm waiting for Liridon to hurry up so we can get dinner and get this party started. We are going to Galactic Circus to win me a Spongebob bag! I'm so excited. STEPPIN' ON THA BEACH ROOTOOTOTOO!

I'M READY! BYE!

Ps, those are the books I bought today.. If you didn't get that earlier.

MuscleBob BuffPants

I don't know if you know this about me, but I love Spongebob. There isn't enough time in the day for me to tell you how much I love Spongebob, he is just... Wow. I literally have in-depth conversations with friends/family/random street walkers about how fantabulous that little yellow sponge is. In all seriousness though, how can you not like him? Honestly, he is cute, funny, happy, the best fry cook in all of Bikini Bottom, lives in a pineapple, has a pet snail, can sing like an angel.. shall I go on? I think you get my drift. He is just an all round legend.

You're probably wondering why I am writing a post about Spongebob.. I'll tell you. So, I had a dream the other night about this little guy and it got me thinking. How awesome would it be if you lived in a pineapple, under the sea, could talk, was best mates with a pink star fish and got to hang with Goofy Goober?! I would just lose my shit all over the shop. Luckily I have two friends who love Spongebob as much as I do, we can quote, sing and just fap over the Bobman all day long.

Holy krab cakes, I just found this website... http://en.spongepedia.org. Wow. It's like wikipedia but for Spongebob! OH LAWDY. I won't be doing anymore work today.

Shit is lost.
Bye.

2 gurlz, 1 computer

So, the moral of today's story is "don't leave your computer laying around when Amy and I are over" My best friend Amy and I stayed at my other best friend Alexander's house a few nights ago. He left to go to uni and we stole his computer and took some sexy shots. Of course we changed his wallpaper to a picture of us. w3 iZ s0 Pr3tY y3@h?!

H.a.m

So, haven't posted on this since May last year. Totally forgot I even had an account on here to be honest, so I thought I might as well give it another crack. Let's see how long until I get over posting on here again, yeah?

Well, since May last year a whole lot of shit has happened. I'm not going to bore you with the details, cause in all honesty I will bore myself typing it. But, been doing heaps, well not really, other than work. That's something new... Since last time I posted I got a job, in June of last year. Working for the Victorian Government, at the Department of Planning and Community Development. Sounds fancy doesn't it? Not really, it's just a bunch of old people sitting in an office talking about stuff I don't understand majority of the time. Having said that, I do enjoy it though. Everyone is lovely, it's fairly chilled and it's a pretty decent job to score straight out of high school. It's in the cbd so I usually just fuck around visiting friends on different floors, taking an hour lunch, going shopping, laying the the gardens. Sounds like rainbows and unicorns doesn't it? Try getting up at 6:30am and not getting home till 7:00pm, not so fun now hey?

Well, other than that nothing worth writing about really comes to mind. Pretty much all I do is work, sleep and watch Spongebob. Speaking of, I bought the Spongebob movie and the complete set of Season 1 yesterday, all for $36! I was so chuffed. After being sent home from work for being sick, it was the only way to spend the rest of the afternoon/night. 5 hours later I thought it might be time to give the dvd player a breather. Oh, and other fun news, I'm going to America in August to visit my fellow Spongebob lover Henry and some other pals. Keen as a bean for this, I'm flying over with my best friend Nicolas and his boyfriend Steve. It'll be off the hizzay fo sho'.

Anywho's, just thought I might post something on here, spice up life and whatnot. It's highly unlikely that anyone even reads this, but it gives me something to do seeing as I'm sitting at my desk doing jack shit.
Catchya on the flip side son.
